Four Killed in Early Morning House Fire Outside Albany
An early morning fire killed four people in New Scotland, N.Y., outside of Albany, on Saturday, according to officials.
Craig Apple, the Albany County sheriff, said on Twitter that local roads were shut down and that fire crews were hauling water to the blaze. Firefighters from multiple agencies were at the scene, he said.
“Please Pray for our FF’s and victims of this tragedy,” the sheriff wrote on Facebook, referring to the firefighters working to put out the fire.
As of Saturday morning, officials had not identified the victims.
The fire broke out at 64 Normanskill Road, according to a report in The Times Union. The address is linked to a longtime farm and family business, called Circle Tree Farm, which has been owned by the same family for generations, according to a GoFundMe post from January.
